The Andover Warriors Lacrosse program was started in 1996 by the Andover Youth Services. Since that time it has grown from 15 young people on the field at Doherty Middle School to over 400 boys and girls playing in 8 divisions. It has also helped to develop 6 teams at Andover High School. The current program is designed to offer Andover residents in the 1st through 8th grades the opportunity to learn and improve at the sport of lacrosse regardless of experience or ability.

The boys program plays games in the Town Pride League (TPL) and is governed by USLacrosse
.

The TPL represents some of the most competitive boys lacrosse in eastern Massachusetts while offering grade specific teams for grades 3 through 8.

1st and 2nd Grade Boys Lacrosse

Andover Lacrosse begins with a developmental program for boys in the 1st and 2nd grades. This program is an introduction to lacrosse featuring one practice a week and an 8 v. 8 format game per week. Practices will be held in “clinic format.” This curriculum has been designed to maximize the skill development of kids at each respective level in a progressive fashion. In doing so we will attempt to increase the continuity of the experience between coaches and between age groups. 8th graders participating in Andover Warriors Lacrosse and AHS Varsity Lacrosse players will assist the coaching staff in teaching the fundamentals of the sport while striving to maximize player enthusiasm and love for the game.
